  • Blendy Café La Mode

Belndy’s “Very delicious” Café Olé. It is really good actually, and comes in a fat can – the same width as the usual america soda can, but shorter. Not too sweet, and a bit creamy because of the milk mix. I like it a lot. Boring can design though.

  • Nescafé Takumi

Today’s coffee is Nescafé’s Takumi. Takumi probably means “skill” here, but I’m not really sure. It didn’t really stand out in my mind at all, but was a pleasant hot coffee. Tasted very similar to the “Bitou” coffee actually. Apparently (definitely) my palate is not skilled enough to notice the finer distinctions between canned coffee […]

  • Eric’s Going away party

Eric leaves to return to America in a few days. As his friends, we were obligated to have a going away party. Ami was nice enough to allow us to use the Joyful Time bar, and afterwards we went to sing some Karaoke. I’ve got proof of the bar part at least.

  • Nescafe Low Sugar

Today’s daily Japanese coffee is Nescafé’s Bitou Coffee, or low sugar coffee. It was hot, and pretty good. Sweet for something that is low sugar. From today on I will only post daily coffee updates to the Daily Japanese Canned Coffee section. I know I don’t post much – mostly I’m just working and commuting, […]

  • Fire Course Ground Coffee

This coffee is one of the hot varieties. It comes out of the vending machine hot. Pretty hard to carry the can up 10 floors actually. It it “course ground” coffee. It’s pretty good. I like the hot variety. Also a bit sweet, but not as much as Wonda’s morning shot, or Boss Rainbow Mountain.

  • Wonda Morning Shot

Today’s coffee is Wonda’s Morning shot. I’ve been seeing commercials for this on TV all over the place. Depite saying “Good morning” right there on the can, I’m having it in the afternoon. It is a nice blend, a bit sweet, right up there with Boss Rainbow Mountain. I don’t like the woman they use […]

  • Fire Sky Max

Today’s coffee: Fire’s Sky Max. It is a weaker coffee than some of the other Fire’s I’ve had, and not as sweet either. Still, not bad.

  • Fire Milk & Beans

Today’s daily canned coffee is Fire Milk & Beans. I really liked this coffee, it was sweet and smooth. I still have a hard time drinking coffee black, and enjoy the café au lait side of things more.

  • Boss Rainbow Mountain Blend

At the local 7-11 I noticed that they had my favorite, Boss Rainbow Mountain Blend, in some sort of strange two pack. It comes with a Hokuto no ken something or other. No discount on the dual pack, still 2*120, but they do throw in the toy. This is the second toy I’ve got. A […]

  • Fire Mocha 100%

Today’s coffee: Fire Mocha 100%. Man, this is a real man’s coffee, a strong bitter taste, not sweet at all. Like black coffee, of which I’m not a real fan. Still, wakes me up and does the job. Also, as with yesterday’s Fire brand coffee, this one came out of the machine cold.

  • Daily Japanese Canned Coffee: “Blend of Fire”

At work, after lunch I drink a canned coffee to help keep me awake through the afternoon push. I really like Japanese Canned Coffee. Sometimes it is hot, sometimes it is cold. Sometimes bought in vending machines, sometimes bought in stores. I’ve decided to document each type of coffee that I drink. The goal is […]

  • Hamarikyuu Park and Monjya-yaki

    F. and I went for a walk in Tokyo on Saturday. We first went to Hamarikyuu Park, and looked at some of the cherry blossoms. They are just about in full bloom now. NHK was there filming, which we later saw on TV that night. Hamarikyuu Park has a pine tree that is 300 years […]
